Hi there
A very busy weekend for me, but finally managed to sit down and upload this much loved song for the kids. Let the kids listen to this song. It is an introduction to counting backwards, we use it in class and they love it. We actually act it out.

Have some fun with the ‘Copy This’ song
The kids simply love this song. We do it in class, and it will be fun for them to hear it at home too.

New letter and number. Letter a. Number 4.
Today we concluded our first learnt no. and letter. Number 1 and Letter s. This doesn’t mean that they are learnt and forgotten, but a constant revision will be carried out in class on a daily basis. Please do so at home too.
For the letter ‘a’ the kids listened to the Jolly Phonic Story( please refer to the pack given on our first meeting together), they managed to learn the Jolly Phonic Song( please click on the link/picture below to listen to the song) and also we played a memory initial sound game for the letter ‘a’ . Children were presented with different pictures such as aeroplane, apron, ant, apple, arrows…… etc. After discussing all the pictures, the children could remember what words started with the ‘a’ sound, so the pictures were turned over and the kids had to mention different ‘a’ words, without any visual aids. They loved it, so if I may suggest, you can play this game at home, which for surely will facilitate the learning at school.
Number 4 was introduced. That is it’s value, recognition and some pre-writing skills. For pre-writing half the class managed to finish writing no 4 with their finger dipped in red paint on their drawing book. Half the class will finish off this activity tomorrow, this is only due to the system of rotation used in class. This means different kids, given different tasks.
To conclude our lovely day, we continued with our Topic. Me Myself and all around me. Our sub-topic today was I am Beautiful. Each child was given either a boy or a girl figure to colour, to represent themselves. The task was for the kids to choose the right colour to represent their individual characteristics, that is different hair, eyes, skin colour. We finished of our work of art with some glitters, buttons…. etc. Please do admire the kids work on our personal Art Gallery……………. right outside our class
> Praise the kids, cause they truely made an effort, and most important of all DO NOT COMPARE
Take care Ms Gaby
